Ford MP&L Internal Training
Ford Motor Company needs to educate their internal North American employees on the structure, systems, and functionality of one of their five major internal organizations.
Challenge
Business leaders at Ford in the Material, Planning, and Logistics (MP&L) organization are tasked with designing and operating Ford’s global transportation networks and for engineering high-quality and efficient packaging to protect parts in transit. These efforts demand long timelines and detailed planning. But many Ford employees from other organizations are unaware of the time demands and lead time requirements, and a flurry of unrealistic requests to MP&L indicated that there was a lack of knowledge company-wide outside of MP&L as to what MP&L actually does. Ford hires an external training company to design and develop the course, but the company goes out of business shortly after completing the design phase. MCM is hired to pick up where the project was left off and complete the development of the e-learning course.

MCM develops an interactive web-based training course to provide cross-departmental training on Ford’s global transportation network work flow in order to create awareness across dependent internal organizations. Training will positively influence timely and quality requests and manage expectations throughout the supply chain.
Goals
Project goals focus on:- Educating non-MP&L Ford employees on the structure, systems, and functions of the Ford MP&L organization
- Reducing the number of short-notice requests on MP&L that are not possible to meet due to time restrictions
